Q uick and easy religious Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Night Of Navy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Gray Granite Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" of blotches of gray and light blue on dark blue design from Sun Prints 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Insert the Gray Granite rectangle into the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder so the words run horizontally across the vertical rectangle and you will only emboss the top 2/3 of the rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Mount the "the light of the world" sentiment from the Peace To You Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the dry embossed, vertical 4" x 5-1/4" Gray Granite rectangle.
Adhere the strip of Sun Prints Designer Paper to the stamped and dry embossed Gray Granite rectangle so it is just above the sentiment and covers the seam between the dry embossed and smooth parts of the cardstock.
Adhere the Gray Granite rectangle with designer paper attached to the front of the Night Of Navy card.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on the base of the Stamparatus.
Put the Very Vanilla rectangle on the Stamparatus base so it is flush with the top edge and about 1" from the right edge.
Pick out the nativity image from the Peace To You Set. Place the stamp rubber side down on the Very Vanilla rectangle so it is centered. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the Very Vanilla rectangle on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you didn't get a good image, re-ink the stamp and try again. Just make sure the cardstock is in the same place.
Remove the cardstock.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the nativity image by hand. Cut straight lines. Make sure you leave a small border of vanilla on all edges.
Adhere the cut out nativity scene to the front of the card so it is about 1/2" from the left edge of the card and about 1/4" of designer paper shows along the bottom.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Cotton Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot at a slight angle to the lower left corner of the nativity scene cut out as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 medium jewel from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the star in the nativity scene cut out as shown.
