A pretty thinking of you card using retiring Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer vellum pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 6" of stained glass birds sitting on a wire from sheet of Graceful Glass 6" x 6" Designer Vellum
- 1" x 3" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-3/8" x 2-5/8" from Old Olive Cardstock
Mount the Sheet Music background stamp on Block F. Place the Sheet Music background stamp rubber side up on Grid Paper on your work surface. Ink up the stamp by pouncing or rubbing the StazOn Ink Pad all over it. Leave the inked up stamp face up on your work surface. Carefully place the large Pool Party rectangle on the stamp so it is centered. Fold the Grid Paper up and over the top of everything and rub firmly all over. Using the Grid Paper protects your hands from getting ink on them.
Tip: I just clean my background stamps by running them under water until the water runs clear. Then, I let them air dry.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Rectangle Stitched Dies that cuts out a 3-13/16" x 5-1/8" rectangle. Place the stamped Pool Party rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched rectangle die on top so it is centered over the stamped sheet music. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the strip of white cardstock across the sheet music rectangle cut out so the top of the white strip is about 1/2" from the top of the sheet music rectangle.
Tip: Make sure your music is right side up! If you need to, look at the image on the stamp case to help you orient the cardstock the right way.
Place the strip of Graceful Glass Designer Vellum on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great) to protect it from ink. You can color on the top of the vellum or on the back. The colors will be more intense if you color on the top.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Don't forget to color the background with the Pool Party Dark Marker.
Put a couple of small dabs of SNAIL on the back of the colored vellum strip where they will be hidden by the colored birds. Lay the colored vellum strip on top of the long white strip adhered to the sheet music rectangle cut out. Fold the ends of the vellum strip over to the back of the sheet music rectangle cut out. Adhere the folded over vellum in place using strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips on the back of the sheet music rectangle cut out and add more SNAIL to the back. Adhere it to the front of the Lovely Lipstick card.
Cut a 3-3/4" piece of the Lovely Lipstick 1/2" ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack so there are angles on each end.
Put a 2-3/4" strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the bottom edge of the colored vellum on one side. Remove the protective backing and adhere the piece of ribbon to the Tear & Tape strip so the ribbon is centered over the bottom edge of the vellum.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sheltering Tree Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Sheltering Tree Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small rectangle of Pool Party Cardstock.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Rectangle Stitched Dies that cuts out a 1/2" x 2-1/2" rectangle. Place the stamped sentiment on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched rectangle die on top so it is centered over the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the sentiment rectangle cut out to adhere it to the ribbon so it is centered side to side and sticks out over the top of the ribbon a small amount.
