Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Powder Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 2-1/8" x 3-3/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
Pick out the stitched rectangle framelit from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits that cuts out a 1-13/16" x 3-3/16" rectangle. Place the Garden Green rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched rectangle framelit on top so it is about 1/2" in from the top and left sides. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Keep the large piece with a rectangle cut out of it for use on this card. Throw away the small rectangle cut out or keep it for use on another project.
Lightly spray the large Garden Green rectangle with the rectangle cut out of it with water. This will help you get a deeper impression when you dry emboss it.
Insert the damp Garden Green rectangle with the rectangle cut out of it into the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so the rectangle cut out is on the left side of the folder and you can see the logos printed on the front of the folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Set the dry embossed cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sheltering Tree Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the bare tree image from the Sheltering Tree Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle so the trunk is to the right of center.
Mount the large grouping of leaves image from the Sheltering Tree Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Powder Pink Ink Pad. BEFORE you stamp, use the brush tip of the Berry Burst Marker to randomly thump ink all over the image. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp it over the tree trunk image on the white rectangle. WITHOUT re-inking, move the stamp slightly up/down and to the left/right and stamp again. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist or Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Repeat the step above inking up the stamp with Powder Pink Ink and then thumping with the Berry Burst Marker and stamping and stamping again after shifting the stamp slightly without re-inking it. Clean the stamp and put it away.
If the dry embossed Garden Green rectangle with a rectangle cut out of the center is dry, adhere the stamped white rectangle to the back of the Garden Green rectangle so that the tree shows through with the bottom of the trunk being hidden and the trunk is about 1/4" from the right edge of the rectangle cut out.
Adhere the matted Garden Green/white rectangle to the front of the Powder Pink card.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Soft Suede rectangle. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Soft Suede on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Soft Suede facing up).
Pick out the straight, wooden bench thinlit from the Pretty Park Framelits. Place it on top of the Soft Suede Cardstock piece on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the back of the bench cut out. Adhere it to the front of the card so the right edge almost touches the right edge of the Garden Green layer and the bottom of the bench legs almost touch the bottom of the Garden Green layer.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a circular rhinestone from a sheet of Petal Pink Rhinestone Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the top right corner of the card front.
