F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Bermuda Bay Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 3-1/2" square from Bermuda Bay Cardstock
- 3-3/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 1-3/4" x 5" from Whisper White Cardstock
Insert the Shaded Spruce rectangle into the Woodland Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Bermuda Bay square. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Bermuda Bay on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Bermuda Bay facing up).
Place the Happy Birthday Die on top of the Bermuda Bay Cardstock piece on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the happy birthday cut out. Adhere it to the back/debossed side of the dry embossed Shaded Spruce rectangle so it is about 3/8" from the top and about 1/4" from the right edge.
Cut a 6" piece of the Black/Silver 1/4" Striped Metallic Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the matted cardstock layers so it is just below the letters in the word "birthday" of the cut out and overlaps the tail of the "y." Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the Shaded Spruce rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Bermuda Bay card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Foxy Friends Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the separate tail image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the white strip of cardstock.
Mount the striped tail image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on top of the previously stamped tail image.
Unlock the Fox Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped tail into the punch and get it positioned in the center of the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the separate head image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip of cardstock.
Mount the raccoon face mask and ears image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on Grid Paper. WITHOUT re-inking, stamp it over the previously stamped head image.
Mount the closet together set of eyes and nose image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the mask on the head to create the raccoon face.
Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped raccoon head into the punch and get it positioned in the center of the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the separate body image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the white strip of cardstock.
Mount the full, solid, sitting animal with paws image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped body image so the bodies line up. Don't worry about getting the head and tail.
Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped body into the punch and get it positioned in the center of the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Adhere the punched out raccoon body to the card front so the bottom of the body tucks under the ribbon a bit and the left side is about 3/8" from the left side of the card.
Adhere the punched out raccoon tail to the card front so the tail sticks out to the right side. Tuck the end of the tail under the body and let the other end overlap the top of the "b" in the "happy birthday" cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the raccoon head to the top of the raccoon body.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up two large and three small silver star sequins from sheets of Twinkle Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere one of the small star sequins as the dot on the "i" in the word birthday and adhere the rest randomly to the card front.
