T ropical birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crumb Cake Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 3-3/4" of woodgrain pattern from Heart & Home 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the pattern is horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2"" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
Insert the Soft Succulent rectangle into the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Soft Succulent rectangle to the front of the Crumb Cake card.
Adhere the Heart & Home Designer Paper rectangle to the front of the horizontal card so it is in the center.
Mount the set of three palm trees image from the Paradise Palms Set on Block D. Ink up the tree trunks with the edge of the brush tip of the Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker. Ink up the palm fronds with the edge of the brush tip of the Soft Succulent Stampin' Write Marker. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the image in the center of the vertical white rectangle slightly closer to the top edge.
Pick out the notched corner rectangle die from the Painted Labels Dies. Put it on top of the stamped palm trees image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the trees are centered side to side and slightly closer to the top. Run through the machine.
If desired, use the fine tip of the Evening Evergreen Stampin' Write Marker to add some darker green lines to the palm fronds.
Make sure you have some Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink. Put the palm trees label cut out on the Grid Paper.
Mount the sand/water image from the Paradise Palms Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the palm trees label cut out a couple of times to create the sand the trees are growing out of. Stamp some images without re-inking. Let the images overlap.
Mount the "birthday" or "retirement" sentiment from the Paradise Palms Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the long, horizontal Crumb Cake rectangle leaving room to cut it out.
Pick out the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die top to bottom and closer to the right edge. Run through the machine.
Cut off some of the Crumb Cake cardstock about 1" past the left edge of the sentiment banner cut out.
Adhere the cut down sentiment banner cut out to the front of the card so the notches on the right side almost touch the right edge of the designer paper rectangle and the bottom edge of the cut out is about 1/2" from the bottom of the designer paper.
Adhere the palm trees label cut out to the front of the card so it is centered top to bottom on the designer paper and the left edge is about 1/8" from the left edge of the designer paper. It should cover the left end of the sentiment banner cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large Soft Succulent opal from the sheet of 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the designer paper on the card front.
Cut a 4" piece of the Soft Succulent 1/2" Satin Shimmer Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown so it is centered over the notch in the bottom right corner of the palm trees label cut out.
