Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Orchid Oasis Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of white stems on light brown background design from Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stems are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 2-3/4" from Orchid Oasis Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 1" x 2-3/4" from Starry Sky Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-3/4" from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Perennial Lavender Designer Paper to the front of the Orchid Oasis card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Painted Lavender Set or Lasting Joy Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the line of tall stems image from the Painted Lavender Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it near the bottom of the horizontal white rectangle near the left edge. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again in the same line just to the right of the first image. Let some of the stems overlap a bit.
Mount the small set of three flower stalks image from the Painted Lavender Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Orchid Oasis Ink Pad. Stamp it just over the tops of some of the stems varying the height a bit. Re-ink the stamp each time. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy. Stamp some more of the images over other stems using the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Clean the stamp again and stamp more of the images using the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time and alternate the heights. Let some of the images overlap each other.
Pick out the postage stamp rectangle die that cuts out a postage stamp rectangle that is 2" x 2-3/4" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of the lavender stems stamped white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you cut out the images leaving a bit of white along the top and cutting off the bottom, left, and right edges. Run through the machine.
Pick out the large stems and leaves die from the Painted Lavender Dies. Put it on top of the Shaded Spruce rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the stems/leaves cut out into two pieces.
Pick out the smaller stems and flowers die from the Painted Lavender Dies. Put it on top of the Starry Sky rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Orchid Oasis strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Punch on the other end as well.
Mount the "I'm so sorry" sentiment from the Lasting Joy Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it on the punched Orchid Oasis strip in the center.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay all the pieces on the front of the card as shown to figure out spacing and layout.
When happy with the layout, use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the bottoms of the stems and leaves and stems and flowers cut outs to hold them in place. Make sure the adhesive will be hidden behind the main image and sentiment strip.
Cut a 3" piece of the Orchid Oasis 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the stamped lavender postage stamp cut out. Fold the left end of the ribbon over to the back and secure in place with a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Put a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the right end of the ribbon to hold it in place. Make sure the adhesive will be hidden by the sentiment strip.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the postage stamp cut out and add some Stampin' Seal. Adhere to the front of the card as shown. Make sure you cover the ends of the stems cut outs and the adhesive holding them in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment strip punch out to the front of the card as shown. Make sure you cover all adhesives.
Cut a 2-1/2" piece of the Orchid Oasis 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie in place with a half knot on the left side of the postage stamp cut out. Trim and fray the ends.
