I
made this Valentine using both current and retired products. If you don't have the retired products (Beautiful Shapes Die Set), you can use a different shape or free-hand cut the hexigon shapes.
Project Recipe
Measurements of Materials
5 ½” x 8 ½” White Cardstock (CS) Scored at 4 ¼”
5 ¼” x 4” White CS
10 DSP and 2 White CS Hexigon Pieces
Scraps of Black and Crushed Curry cardstock to make the Bees.
Cut and Score all pieces. Die Cut the hexigons.
Assembling the Front of the card
• Stamp the sentiments on the white hexagon pieces.
• Lay the hexagons out on the 5 ¼” x 4” piece of DSP to ensure it appears the desired way.
• Adhere the hexagon pieces to the cardstock allowing excess to hang over the edge.
• Turn over the cardstock and trim off excess DSP.
• Use trimmed off pieces of scap DSP to fill in any gaps.
• Turn over the cardstock and trim off excess again.
• Adhere the cardstock to the front of the card base.
• Using a ruler and a Sharpie marker, draw lines on the lower portion of the bee’s body. Lines should be roughly ¼” apart.
• Attach the wings to the body of the bee.
• Using scrap paper, make a small stinger for the bee, then attach to the body.
• Using dimensionals, attach the bees to the front of the card.
Inside the Card
• Stamp the inside sentiment(s) and any decorations onto inside of the card base.
Use your imagination to embellish as desired.
