P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Petal Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-7/8" of black and white flowers and leaves on pale pink background design from Friendly Hello 12" x 12" Design Series Paper
- 2" x 3-7/8" of multicolored stripes on white background design from Friendly Hello 12" x 12" Design Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2" x 8-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the striped Friendly Hello Designer Paper to the bottom of the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle so it is evenly spaced on the left, bottom, and right edges.
Adhere the pink floral Friendly Hello Designer Paper to the top of the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle so it is evenly spaced on the left, top, and right edges. It's okay if it overlaps the striped paper a bit.
Cut a 5-1/4" piece of the White 3/4" Frayed Ribbon.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally across the designer paper/white rectangle so it is just below the seam between the two pieces of designer paper. Remove the protective backing and adhere the ribbon to it so it covers the seam between the two pieces of designer paper.
As you are ready to stamp using the Friendly Hello Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the birthday sentiment from the Friendly Hello Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one end of the shorter horizontal white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the Everyday Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Mount the two large flowers image from the Friendly Hello Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp off on Grid Paper, then WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the edge of the flower that is on top on the image (you can see the whole flower) on the upper right side of the sentiment label punch out so it overlaps the sentiment on the upper right side just a tiny bit. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the two large flowers image on Block I with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it two times on the remaining long strip of white remembering to re-ink it each time. Re-ink it again and stamp the flower that is on top on the image (you can see the whole flower) one more time on the white strip.
Put the stamped flowers strip and the flower stamped sentiment label punch out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the centers of the flowers and add streaks of color to the petals.
Cut out the flowers by hand using Paper Snips Scissors. Cut the flowers apart as well.
Adhere one of the whole cut flowers to the back of the flower stamped sentiment label punch out so the two pieces of the flower line up.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label punch out with flower attached to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon on the right side of the card.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the other two whole flower cut outs around the edges of the sentiment label punch out as shown. Adhere the two partial flower cut outs using Stampin' Seal so the cut edges get tucked under the sentiment label punch out or other flowers.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small dot from the sheet of Matte Black Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the right end of the sentiment label punch out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large and two small dots from the sheet of Matte Black Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the upper left corner of the card as shown.
