F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Bermuda Bay Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 4-1/2" dashed diagonal white lines on green background design from Sunshine & Rainbows 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 3-1/2" of small cloud shapes made of dashed white lines on pale blue background design from Sunshine & Rainbows 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal on the horizontal strip
- 1" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a slight curve along the top edge of the horizontal strip of small cloud shapes made of dashed white lines on pale blue background Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a hill on the left side and a dip on the right side of the horizontal strip of dashed diagonal white lines on green background design Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper.
Mount the standing otter image from the Awesome Otters Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the large, vertical white rectangle so the tip of the tail is about 1/4" from the left side and the bottom of the otter is about 1" from the bottom edge. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the standing otter image on Block D with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the top of the hill of the cut dashed diagonal white lines on green background design Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper strip so you get his tail and feet.
Mount the "It's birthday time!" sentiment from the Awesome Otters Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the top of the large vertical white rectangle around the stamped otter image. Stamp some of the sentiments without re-inking the stamp. Let some of the sentiments go off the edges of the cardstock. Change the orientation of the stamp a little each time. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the "It's birthday time!" sentiment on Block G using the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the top of the large vertical white rectangle around the stamped otter image and between the previously stamped sentiments. Stamp some of the sentiments without re-inking the stamp. Let some of the sentiments go off the edges of the cardstock. Change the orientation of the stamp a little each time.
Put the otter and sentiment stamped white rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color the otter.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Put the hill and valley cut dashed diagonal white lines on green background design Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper strip on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the darkest Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color the otter's tail and feet on the designer paper strip.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Adhere the cut strip of small cloud shapes made of dashed white lines on pale blue background design Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper to the lower right side of the stamped and colored white rectangle so the top of the curve is about 1-3/8" from the bottom and the left edge is under the otter image. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess designer paper on the right and bottom edges.
Adhere the cut, stamped, and colored hill and valley dashed diagonal white lines on green background design Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper strip to the bottom of the stamped and colored white rectangle so the tail and feet line up with the tail and feet on the otter of the white cardstock. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess designer paper on the left, right, and bottom edges.
Adhere the white rectangle to the center of the Bermuda Bay rectangle and then to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
Mount the gift wrapped fish image from the Party Puffins Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it 3 times on the remaining small white strip leaving a little space between each image. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Mount the party hat image from the Awesome Otters Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the end of the small white strip.
Put the fish and party hat stamped white strip on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends to color in the fish and most of the party hat.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the bow on the fish and the dots on the party hat.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the colored fish and party hat. Cut the pompom off the top of the hat.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the cut out party hat to the top of the otter's head.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere two of the fish cut outs to the front of the card so they help to cover the seam between the designer paper and the cardstock on the bottom of the otter. Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the last fish cut out in place.
Use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick to pick out a Granny Apple Green circle from the Shaker Shapes. Adhere the shape to the front of the card at the top of the party hat using a small dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
